Senior Quality Engineer

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Applying knowledge of quality assurance standards and procedures: reviews quality assurance instructions, assembly specifications, and production schedules to determine method of conducting inspections and tests, sequence of operations, and work assignments.

• Monitors inspection and test queues and initiates action to maintain acceptable levels.

• Coordinates the inspection and test response to schedule requirements as identified at regular production meetings held with manufacturing supervision and management.

• Initiates cross-training and initial training programs that encompass all aspects of the manufacturing inspection and test functions to expand and improve coverage and personnel qualifications.

• Directs workers in quality assurance inspection and testing, to assure that industry and regulatory standards are met.

• Monitors, maintains or develops performance reporting systems relative to the effectiveness of the inspection and testing operations and initiates necessary action based on results.

• Develops and maintains employee development and participations programs that achieve the individuals’ potential and added value to the organization. Extends the program to all levels from inspector to supervisor.

• Supervises those employees involved in the calibration of equipment used in various stages of production/testing.

• Analyze failure data of defective product and investigate root cause.

• Must be able to use and teach the use of precision measuring instruments i.e. micrometers, calipers and optical comparator.

• Develop effective inspection and process sheets to be used in inspecting product.

• Notify other departments of receiving defects and work with vendors to resolve.

• Supervises and oversees the flow of returned goods into and out of the building.

• Assigns training of new workers to qualified workers.

• Reviews reports and confers with quality assurance, productions, management, and engineering personnel to solve work-related problem.

• Coordinates ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D -As such, this individual regulates, documents, and controls the internal auditing processes, as well as other processes related to the maintenance of the QMS Certificates.

• Completes all ISO 9001:2015 AS9100D quality training and follows related procedures.

Job Specifications:

• Four year degree in Engineering preferred or related manufacturing experience in lieu of degree.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials.

• Familiar with manufacturing processing methods.

• Experience in supplier assessment, inspection, assembly and test practices and their verification.

• Experience of statistical process control and reporting.

• Good organizational skills.

• Good management skills.

• Ability to effectively communicate within the company and with customers.

• Knowledge of quality disciplines and reliability statistics.

• Understanding and familiarity of ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office

• Must have high initiative, sharp investigative ability, and a high desire for leaning.

• Strong analytical and root-cause capabilities and drive to corrective action.
